What Prickles is

Prickles is an unofficial, community-built indicator that shows whether Claude (Anthropic's AI assistant) is currently having issues, according to Anthropic's public status page. It displays a cute hedgehog. That is the entire product.

Use at your own judgment

Prickles is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. The status indicator is best-effort and can be wrong. Don't make important decisions based on what a hedgehog icon tells you — if you need authoritative information about Claude's status, consult Anthropic's official status page.

No affiliation with Anthropic

Prickles is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Anthropic PBC in any way. Claude and related marks are trademarks of Anthropic. Any use of these terms on this site is purely nominative — we reference the product we're tracking, nothing more.

No liability

The Prickles maintainer is not liable for any damages, losses, or frustrations arising from use of this service. If the widget says Claude is fine and Claude is actually on fire, or vice versa, that's not a breach of anything.

Data source

Prickles reads publicly-available information from status.anthropic.com. We identify ourselves politely with a User-Agent and poll infrequently.
